Winona-Ryder

Winona Ryder is the professionally-known name of Winona Laura Hoowitz, birthed within Winona Minnesota. Her parents named her after the town she grew up in. Michel Horowitz' father was an author and editor, as were Cynthia Palmer and her mother. Ryder's parents also happen to be Jewish. Ryder believes herself to being Jewish. The actress is the younger sister of Uria, and has half-siblings Jubal & Sunyata. Ryder's family relocated from Mendocino County in California at the age of seven. In those days, there was no electricity. There was no television books were Ryder's only distraction for her time, and she became an avid reader. Ryder began taking acting lessons at the American Conservatory Theatre in 1983 at the age of twelve years old. Lucas The film from 1986, was her first major part. Ryder was fifteen when she landed the role. Ryder experienced bullying at high school. Her hope was that the acting profession would end this. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. But that didn't stop her making plans for her future. Beetlejuice which was a 1988 Tim Burton film, was her first major break. Ryder kept playing successful roles in several movies. In 1993 she received two nominations to win Academy Awards. One of the nominations was for her part In The Age of Innocence.
