Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington (Greek American) is a Greek American writer, syndicated-columnist as well as a businesswoman. She founded The Huffington Post, is the founder and CEO of Thrive Global as well an writer of 15 novels. Arianna Huffington is an independent liberal news outlet, is a television personality, author, and charity donor. Born in Greece but moved to England when she was 16. In Cambridge University, she graduated with a MA at the level of economics. She was the first person non-UK to become the president of The Cambridge Union at the age 21. In the years following her graduation, she made a mark as a conservative syndicated columnist and when the publication of The Huffington Post' few years later she created an online voice portal which offered critical observations regarding the state of affairs. She was able to get several prominent contributors who posted their opinions on culture and politics. Arianna gained notoriety in 2003, when she ran independently in a recall election in California in order to take over the position of Governor Davis. Aside from that she was also the director of the Detroit Project to promote fuel-efficient vehicles. Forbes identified her as being the 12th most influential female in the media industry in 2009 and Guardian also included her on the list of Top 100 media in that same year. AOL Inc. bought The Huffington Post, and she was made president of this media group. This was a huge acquisition that included a number of AOL properties of that time, including Engadget AOL style list and Patch Media. Their parents are Elli as well as Konstantinos Stasinopoulos who was a management consultant and journalist. They were very close to her father. But it is her bond with her mother which shaped her. She showed leadership traits throughout her childhood. at the age of 16 she relocating to the United Kingdom to pursue her studies. She enrolled into Girton College Cambridge. She was a member of The Cambridge Union college debate society as a student in which she became the first woman to hold the position of the president. In 1972, she earned an advanced degree in Economics. She worked as a critic as well as a host on TV as well as a columnist following her graduation. The appearance she made in Face the music with Bernard Levin was also notable. She began to write books, taking his help to edit.
