April Ross

April Ross, a beach volleyball player from the United States is part of a select set of females who've had medals won in multiple Olympics. In Tokyo in the coming days, she'll try to net her third medal with fellow the first-time Olympian Alix Klineman. Ross is hoping to secure an Olympic debut gold, but she's also hoping to earn greater. Since she's 39 years old and has a long way to go, this could be her last shot. But she's still confident of achieving top honours. Ross was quoted by NBC Boston as saying that If you put in your best, even if you perform well, you will win the gold. In addition, I'm planning put my faith in a touch of luck. Ross was born in 1982 in Costa Mesa California where she lived with her parents and her sister. While at Newport Harbor High School, she competed in numerous different sports. Her prep athletic career included indoor volleyball along with basketball as well as running and track. However, she was a standout in this sport. As a college volleyball season in her university biography she played as an outside-hitter, middle blocker and setter. The results of her efforts were acknowledged in 1999 when she was named Gatorade's Circle Of Champions National Players of the Year. The year 2000 was the time she received her the Orange County Athlete of the Year award in volleyball. Ross and Klineman started their relationship in 2017 but Ross has been a beach player for years prior to. She actually won several major championships while playing with two different partners, one of which is the volleyball legend. Jennifer Kessy coached her from 2007 until 2013. Kessy was Ross's co-coach at the World Championships in 2009. The duo would go through to take home a silver medal in the 2012 Olympic Games at London. Misty Maytreanor's legendary team and Kerri Jennings took home the gold. Ross Jennings replaced May-Treanor after she had retired. In 2016, the pair were awarded bronze medals at the Rio Olympics for beach volleyball. In high school and the years before she hit the beach as a professional Ross was a ball with the Trojans of USC as an NCAA. Her career was a success during her time in the college. In 2000, she was voted Pac-10 Freshman as well as NCAA Freshman Of The Year, and was also an All-American. In addition, she helped her Trojans get to the Final Four. She was devastated by a personal tragedy during her second year, but she managed to become an All-American again. Over the course of her final two seasons with the Trojans, she helped them to win two consecutive titles. In 2003-2004, she was named the top female volleyball player on the collegiate scene in the United States through the Honda Sports Award. Ross was a student at USC in International Relations. Margie Ross did not see her daughter make it to the top of the beach volleyball ladder. Ross's mother died of cancer of the breast when she was a sophomore at USC. Ross is still awed by her late parent. Margie remains an inspiration both on and off of the beach.
