Anna Paquin
Anna Paquin (born Winnipeg, raised in Wellington) is a Canadian actress from Canada. She was born in Winnipeg and was raised in Wellington Paquin began her acting debut as Flora McGrath in the romantic drama film The Piano for which she was awarded an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress at the age of 11, and was the 2nd youngest recipient to win an award within Oscar history. In response to an audition Flora McGrath was cast as the daughter of a Scottish musician. Flora McGrath is the child of a mute Scottish musician, who emigrated from Scotland to New Zealand to marry in the 19th century. As a teenager her family relocated from New Zealand to United States. Paquin was played as the title child in Franco Zeffirelli's Jane Eyre in the year 1996. Also, she was a leading part in Fly Away Home, a movie from the year. Paquin had a small role in the 1997 TV movie adaptation of Carson McCullers' novel The Member of the Wedding. She also played the Queen of Spain in Steven Spielberg's Amistad (2007). She played teens in Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (1998), A Walk on the Moon (1998) as well as Almost Famous (2000). In addition, she portrayed the groupie Polexia Aphrodisa.
