Whitney Elizabeth Houston is a performer that was born in Newark, New Jersey on 9th August 1963. The parents of her are gospel superstars Cissy Houston(n e Emily Lee Drinkard) and John Russell Houston Jr. Whitney's cousin Dionne Warwick sings as well. When she was a little girl, Houston began singing professionally with her church's choir. Houston sang the backing vocals for Chaka Khosns 1978 single Im Every Woman with her mother. Jermaine, her mother and Lou Rawls were among those who she sang with. She was also briefly as a model for Seventeen Magazine in 1981. But it came with The Bodyguard of 1992 that made her one of the most successful artists in history. While the movie and the actor's performance weren't well-received, the soundtrack album featuring her rendition of Dolly Parton's I Will Always Love You was her most popular single and album for several months. The album sold over 44 million copies across the globe. The same year, she was married former New Edition star Bobby Brown with whom she was the sole parent of their child Bobbi Kristina Brown in March 1993. Dana Bash (also known as Dana Ruth Schwartz) is a CNN anchorwoman and reporter for the political section of CNN.
