Whitney Houston and Dana Bash
Whitney Elizabeth Houston is a performer that was born in Newark, New Jersey on 9th August 1963. The parents of her are gospel superstars Cissy Houston(n e Emily Lee Drinkard) and John Russell Houston Jr. Whitney's cousin Dionne Warwick sings as well. When she was a little girl, Houston began singing professionally with her church's choir. Houston sang the backing vocals for Chaka Khosns 1978 single Im Every Woman with her mother. Jermaine, her mother and Lou Rawls were among those who she sang with. She was also briefly as a model for Seventeen Magazine in 1981. The quality of her work as the lead vocalist in New York funk group Material caught the eye of major record companies including Arista who she signed in 1982 and stayed the rest of her life with them. Whitney Houston was her debut album. Whitney Houston was released in 1985 and became the biggest-selling album by the debut artist. From the album, she had several smash singles, such as Saving all My Love for You How Will You Know That You're Good to Love and The Greatest Love of All. This helped her achieve seven US number one hits consecutively. The singer beat the Beatles. The album was sold out of three million copies in its first album's first year of release in the US and then went on to make 25 million copies worldwide, earning her the first of her six Grammys. The Whitney album from 1987, which featured the songs I Wanna Dance With Somebody and Where Do Broken Hearts Get to, continued her success. But it came with The Bodyguard of 1992 that made her one of the most successful artists in history. While the movie and the actor's performance weren't well-received, the soundtrack album featuring her rendition of Dolly Parton's I Will Always Love You was her most popular single and album for several months. The album sold over 44 million copies across the globe. The same year, she was married former New Edition star Bobby Brown with whom she was the sole parent of their child Bobbi Kristina Brown in March 1993. About this time her well-documented substance abuse began and by 1996, Bobbi Kristina Brown was using drugs daily.
Dana Bash (also known as Dana Ruth Schwartz) is a CNN anchorwoman and reporter for the political section of CNN. She has also produced several of the network's Saturday shows such for instance Evans & Novak' Late Edition' and Inside Politics.' She has worked for other renowned channels before, including NBC as well as CBS. Bash has been awarded the Women in Washington Power List award in Elle magazine.
