Whitney Houston and Dana Bash

Whitney Elizabeth Houston was born to a musical family on the 9th of August, 1963, in Newark New Jersey the daughter of gospel superstar Cissy Houston (nee Emily Lee Drinkard) and John Russell Houston Jr. and cousin of singing star Dionne Warwick. At the age of a small girl, Houston started singing professionally with the choir of her church. She sang backing vocals for Chaka Khosn's song from 1978 Im Every Woman with her mom. Later, she provided backing vocals to Lou Rawls & Jermaine jackson and her mother. Her first gig was as a lead performer for the The New York-based New York Funk band Material. The quality of her vocal work earned her the attention of major record label Arista where she signed up in 1983. Whitney Houston, her debut album that debuted in 1985 was the highest-selling album for a debut singer. Tracks like the title track, The Greatest Love of All, How Can I Tell If You Give Love and the song Saving all My Love were all released from the album. The songs enabled Houston to earn 7 US top tens, which surpassed even those of the Beatles. The album sold 3 million copies in its first season in the US as well as make 25 million copies worldwide, earning them the first six Grammies. The Whitney album followed in 1987 and the singles Where Do Broken Hearts GO and I Wanna Dance With Somebody helped to build on the success of her debut album. But it was it was the 1992 film The Bodyguard that solidified her standing as one of the most well-known artists. Although her performance in the film and its soundtrack were not popular, the Dolly Parton cover I Will Always Love You and the accompanying album topped charts around the globe for months. Their daughter Bobbi is born the month of March in 1993. This was the year after she wed Bobby Brown. Around this time, her well-documented addiction to drugs began. By 1996, Bobbi Kristina Brown used to use drugs every day.

Dana Bash or Dana Ruth Schwartz as she is more well-known as, is an American anchorwoman reporter, as well as CNN's political reporter.
